Infertility is defined as not being able to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. Woman who get pregnant but can’t carry a successful pregnancy may also be infertile.There are many factors which contribute to infertility.Women as well as men, both should undergo for initial tests if after trying for more than year, they are getting desired results.
In todays age, there are many things which harm your ability to conceive. Some of them are- Age, obesity,lifestyle problems,excess use of chemicals etc.But that doesn’t mean there is no solution. A proper medical treatment with appropriate lifestyle modifications, you can achieve your goal of becoming parents.
Infertility Factors
Certain factors may interfere with getting pregnant. However, these factors do not guarantee you will be infertile.
For women, those factors can include:
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
- Hormonal Factors
- Endometriosis
- STIs, other infections
- Unhealthy body weight
- Other unknown cause
Common Signs of Infertility in Women –
- Irregular periods
- Painful or heavy periods
- No periods
- Symptoms of hormone fluctuations
- Painful intercourse
For men, those factors include:
- Sperm count is low
- Having poor sperm motility
- Abnormality in sperm formation
- Too much use of alcohol, tobacco, and other addiction
Common Signs of Infertility in Men –
- Changes in sexual desire
- Testicle pain or swelling
- Problems maintaining erection
- Issues with ejaculation
- Small, firm testicles
